DOXA Coffee Roasters
The South Austin-based coffee truck–owned by duo Nick Shock and JT Sivils—sells various hot and iced coffees and teas such as matcha, cold brew, lattes, Americanos and more. The coffee truck will also offer a selection of pastries including kolaches and cinnamon rolls.
Retro Ranch ATX
The shop is owned by Buda locals Holland May and Colton Stephens. Retro Ranch ATX sells vintage costume jewelry, sterling silver, art, collectible cards and other knick knacks. The store ships nationwide and also accepts consignments.
The Vine Community Church
The church was opened in the Onion Creek Senior Center by locals Joshua Clark with his wife, Amanda. Although The Vine Community Church is Baptist-affiliated, Joshua said it has more of a non-denominational feel.
Synthetic Grass Warehouse
The California-based company supplies artificial grass for football fields, playgrounds and putting greens.
Austin Body Contouring
The Kyle location is owned by Amanda Pischel and is currently by appointment only until the business receives the equipment to offer more services. The Austin-based medical spa offers zero-surgery laser treatments for body fat reduction. The business utilizes Zerona, an FDA-approved, non-invasive laser treatment that targets excess body fat through low-level laser therapy.
Bungalow 7 Wellness Collection
The South-Austin-based massage and meditation spa is owned by Latroya Rollins and Lori Claxton-Anthony. Bungalow 7 Wellness Collection specializes in various massages, meditation and energy work, personalized retreats and body contouring.
Heirloom Church
The family-owned Christian church, owned by Lead Pastor Dakota Adair with his wife, Maggie, operates inside Laura B. Negley Elementary School. The cafeteria is used for the church’s worship center, and the gym will be a space for kids. Heirloom also plans to host Bible studies for middle and high school students.

1400 Hillside Storage
The storage facility is owned by local Merlin Friesenhahn and his wife Bernadette. 1400 Hillside Storage will have 88 units with a mix of larger and smaller units, Site Manager Lane Dittmar told Community Impact, as well as 24-hour access.

Carsandpickups.com
The used car dealer relocated from 1481 Robert S. Light Boulevard in Buda to 21701 I-35 in Kyle. Carsandpickups.com specializes in diesel trucks and some custom cars, internet salesman Tom Cruz said. The business also accepts trade-ins and offers financing.

Peak Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine Center
The physical therapy clinic—locally owned by Robin Dean— celebrated its 5th anniversary on Aug. 29. Peak Physical Therapy offers orthopedic outpatient physical therapy and rehabilitation, pelvic care and sports medicine. The center also offers massages for back, neck and shoulder pain.
Starbucks
The store initially closed temporarily on May 13 and reopened on June 21. The Buda location had standard renovations completed. The coffee chain serves a variety of beverages and food items, including iced and hot coffees, pastries and teas.
Layne’s Chicken Fingers
College Station-based chicken restaurant Layne’s Chicken Fingers is planning to open 15 locations around the Austin metro over the next several years, according to a representative for the company.
Layne’s is known for its chicken fingers, crinkle-cut fries, Texas toast, house sauce and milkshakes.
Closures
Buda Biscuit Baking Co.
The bakery is owned and operated by Buda local Julia Borregales. “The current economy and the increasing need to focus on family, especially our two amazing children, have made it clear that continuing this venture is no longer sustainable,” Borregales said in an Instagram post. Buda Biscuit and Baking Co. opened in January 2022 and sold breakfast, sandwiches and pastries.
