CHICAGO, September 17, 2024–(BUSINESS WIRE)–XA Investments LLC (“XAI”), a Chicago-based alternative investment management and consulting firm, has welcomed Paul Dunn as a Senior Advisor. After a successful investment management career that culminated at Bluerock Capital Markets, Paul will advise XAI on sales and distribution. XAI provides individual investors with access to institutional-caliber alternative managers by partnering with established industry professionals with proven capabilities in alternative credit, private debt, and select hedge fund strategies.

“Paul’s executive leadership in the alternatives market is second to none. We are pleased to have him join the XAI senior advisor group and lend his interval fund expertise in the growth of our firm,” said Kimberly Flynn, President of XA Investments.

“With the rapid expansion of the interval fund marketplace, I’m happy to join a firm that provides top-notch research and consulting services for alternative asset managers. Together we plan to expand the buyer base for these funds by educating advisors, insurance firms and asset allocators on the advantages of alternative investments in a registered fund structure,” added Mr. Dunn.

Before joining XAI as a Senior Advisor, Mr. Dunn served as Executive Vice President of Bluerock Capital Markets, where he led the wholesaling team and managed key business functions including, compliance, operations, third-party wholesaling relationships, and capital planning. Mr. Dunn also has RIA, family office, and wirehouse sales experience.

Mr. Dunn joined Bluerock in 2011 and was part of the leadership team that launched two successful interval funds in the marketplace: the Bluerock Total Income+ Real Estate Fund in October 2012 and the Bluerock High Income Institutional Credit Fund in June 2022. Prior to joining Bluerock, Paul served in various leadership roles at asset management firms including First Allied Wealth, SEI Investments and NTS Corporation, as well as being President of Southland Trust Company, a Dallas based bank. In the early part of his career, Paul was a law enforcement executive. He earned his B.A. from Brown University and his J.D. from Suffolk University School of Law.
