Republica Motocicletas, a motorcycle customization shop in Cordoba, Argentina, has vanished from the scene, leaving behind a legacy of stunning builds. Known for their innovative and budget-friendly projects, Republica’s work has fascinated enthusiasts worldwide. One of their most recent and impressive creations was the Fofis, a Honda NX150 transformed into a sleek street tracker.
Starting with a humble 1994 Honda NX150, Republica’s team meticulously stripped away the original plastics and subframe to create a clean and modern silhouette. A custom made subframe was welded onto the main chassis, altering the rear end geometry and providing a foundation for the new design. The bike’s aesthetics were further enhanced with a handmade saddle, dual function LEDs, and a stylish aluminum fuel tank from a Suzuki GN model.
To maintain a road-legal configuration, Republica added a swingarm mounted license plate holder and a high-mounted fender. The cockpit was also given a minimalist makeover, featuring a premium handlebar, control levers, and a small headlight housing. The Fofis’s transformation was completed with a set of laced wheels wrapped in Metzeler dual-purpose tires.
Republica Motocicletas’ NX150 scrambler is a testament to the transformative power of customization. With its enlarged wheels 19 inches in front and 17 inches at the back and upgraded suspension and brakes, the motorcycle’s stance is undeniably sportier. The mid mounted aluminum foot pegs and handcrafted battery box add a touch of ruggedness.
Under the hood, the single cylinder engine breathes through a high performance foam filter and exhales through a custom stainless steel exhaust system. The scrambler’s aesthetic is equally striking. A bold orange and black color scheme split between the left and right sides creates a visually arresting contrast.
