The Mercedes-AMG GLS 63, despite its impressive performance and luxurious features, often takes a backseat to its smaller sibling, the GLE 63. While both SUVs share the same platform and powertrain, the GLE 63’s slightly smaller size and lower price tag make it a more appealing option for some deep-pocketed car enthusiasts.

Despite their similarities, the GLE 63 offers a significant advantage in terms of acceleration. Thanks to its lighter weight, it can sprint from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.7 seconds, while the GLS 63 takes a slightly longer 4.1 seconds. Both SUVs are powered by the same 4.0-liter V8 engine, which produces 603 horsepower and 627 pound-feet of torque.

While we’ve previously compared the GLS 63 and GLE 63 in detail, it’s the new alloy wheel set on the pictured GLS 63 that caught our attention. These 24-inch slant-lip alloys, from Forgiato, add a bold and eye-catching touch to the SUV’s already imposing presence. The shiny finish further enhances the vehicle’s striking appearance, giving it a more aggressive and confident look.

The Mercedes-AMG GLS 63, despite its menacing appearance, maintains a refined demeanor. The exterior is cloaked in a black paint finish, and most chrome elements have been darkened, save for a few strategic touches. The large three-pointed star logo adorns the Panamericana grille with vertical slats, side skirts, door handles, and the new aftermarket wheels with their intricate pattern.

A social media post, reveals that the GLS 63 is equipped with a lifetime warranty paint protection film and a ceramic coating applied to the new alloys. While it’s unclear whether this vehicle is for sale or merely a marketing tool, we suspect the latter.

The allure of the Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 is undeniable, but its price tag puts it out of reach for many enthusiasts. The 2025 GLS 63 starts at $149,500, while the smaller and more agile GLE 63 is available from $130,800, excluding destination and dealer fees.
