The BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe has received a significant facelift for 2025. While it may not be a head turner, the updated model boasts increased power, upgraded technology, a revamped interior, and a distinct Kia inspired aesthetic.
Notably, the “i” has been dropped from its name in the American market. Following the introduction of the refreshed 1 Series in July, the 2 Series Gran Coupe has undergone a similar transformation.
The iconic Hoffmeister kink remains a defining feature, highlighting its BMW heritage. The illuminated Iconic Glow grille, featuring vertical and diagonal bars within the large lower air inlet, is now available as an option.
Standard LED headlights can be upgraded to Adaptive LED headlights with glare-free matrix high beam, cornering light function, and blue accents. The 2 Series Gran Coupe, launched in 2019, has grown slightly in size.
The elongated silhouette is now 20 millimeters longer, stretching to 4,546 millimeters. While the wheelbase and width remain unchanged, the height has increased by 25 millimeters to 1,445 millimeters.
M Tech styling is standard in the United States, featuring more aggressive front and rear bumpers. The M235 model is easily identifiable by its quad tailpipes. The BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe is a compact luxury coupe that offers a variety of features and options.
The base model, the 228, is powered by a 2.0-liter four cylinder engine that produces 241 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque.
It is available with all wheel drive or front wheel drive. The M235 xDrive is the performance oriented model, with 312 horsepower and 332 pound feet of torque. Both models are equipped with a seven speed dual clutch transmission.
The 2 Series Gran Coupe comes standard with a variety of features, including a 12 speaker Harmon/Kardon premium sound system, cloud based live navigation, wireless charging, and auto dimming interior and exterior mirrors.
It also features the new BM W Curved Display, which integrates a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.7 inch touchscreen.
