Stellantis, the parent company of FCA, has issued a recall for 21,069 units of the 2024-2025 Dodge Hornet and Alfa Romeo Tonale due to a potential issue with the brake pedals. The affected vehicles were produced between July 20, 2023, and September 2024 and may have brake pedals that could collapse, preventing the driver from braking.
Stellantis Europe identified the problem after receiving 12 field reports from November 2023 to April 2024. The automaker is aware of one potential accident related to the issue but has not reported any injuries.
Dodge has issued a recall for its 2024 and 2025 Hornet models due to a potential issue with the brake pedal assembly. Owners can easily determine if their vehicles are affected by entering their 17 character VIN on Mopar’s website.
The recall affects all Italian-built models, which have VINs starting with ZA through ZU. Dealers will reinforce the brake pedal arm with a bolt and nut instead of replacing the entire assembly.
The recall only affects the plug-in hybrid versions of the Hornet and Tonale, which are the more expensive options in the lineup. The Hornet R/T starts at $41,400, while the Tonale is priced at $43,845 for the 2024 model year. Both models offer similar electric range and performance figures.
