KTM has revealed a new version of its Freeride E electric hard enduro motorcycle. This bike, a concept presented ten years ago, is now ready for production and is expected to be ridden by FIM Hard Enduro and Superenduro champion Manuel Lettenbichler.

The Freeride E has been updated with a new look, improved performance, and a more powerful electric motor. The bike’s new powertrain is capable of delivering 37 Nm of torque and a top speed of 59 mph, making it a more capable and exciting machine to ride.

The Freeride E also features three riding modes (Eco, Normal, and Sport) and three energy recuperation settings to increase the bike’s autonomy.

The energy recuperated is stored in a 5.5 kWh lithium-ion removable battery, which is 1.5 kWh larger than the previous version. The Freeride E is a significant improvement over its predecessor and is expected to be a popular choice for riders looking for a high-performance electric enduro bike.

The KTM Freeride E has undergone a significant upgrade for 2025. Its increased size allows for up to three hours of enduro riding, a 20% improvement over its predecessor. However, recharging to 80% still takes five hours.

A new chrome molybdenum steel frame with revised geometry and a wider wheelbase, supported by an aluminum and glass-fiber reinforced nylon subframe, contributes to the bike’s lightweight design, weighing in at only 247 pounds. The suspension system remains unchanged, featuring a split design fork at the front and a shock at the rear with 250 mm of travel, both from WP.

Black aluminum wheels with Michelin Enduro Medium tires (EU models) complete the package. Visually, the 2025 Freeride E retains its signature orange paint job with unique graphics, aligning it with the SX and EXC models.

The street-legal motorcycle will be available at KTM dealers in January 2025, although pricing details are yet to be announced. The Freeride E’s enhanced performance and features make it a compelling choice for riders seeking a versatile electric motorcycle.

Its extended range and lightweight design allow for more adventurous rides, while its street legal status provides added convenience. The bike’s combination of off-road capabilities and urban versatility is expected to attract a wide range of riders.
