In 1970, a year after Carroll Shelby parted ways with Ford, a small number of unsold 1969 Shelby Mustangs were given 1970 VINs and sold to the public.

Of these rare vehicles, the GT350 Convertible is particularly sought after, with only 57 examples produced.

The Grabber Orange convertible you see here is even more exceptional, being one of only two four speed manual models finished in this iconic color.

This particular car has undergone a cosmetic restoration but retains its original interior, numbers matching the V8 engine, and four speed manual transmission.

Equipped with features like a Traction Lok differential, power steering, front disc brakes, and original Goodyear tires, it’s likely a pristine example of a garage queen.

A rare 1970 Shelby GT350 convertible is set to hit the auction block at Mecum’s Las Vegas 2024 event.

This particular model, equipped with a powerful 351 cubic inch V8 engine, is a one of a kind due to its original shipment to Madrid, Spain.

The car remained in Europe for over five decades before being repatriated in 2023. With its pristine condition and exceptional provenance, it is expected to fetch a record breaking price at auction.
