The Ford Mustang has consistently proven its mettle, but a new Shelby GT500 could raise the lineup to even greater heights, leaving competitors like Stellantis and General Motors in the dust.
While the previous generation GT500 boasted impressive power and performance, the current Mustang GT falls short. However, a recently tuned 2024 Mustang GT with the H850 upgrade might just challenge the old Shelby’s dominance.
This Hennessey-tuned Mustang GT features a host of performance enhancements, including upgraded fuel injectors, fuel pump, supercharger, air induction, ECU, and more. These modifications have resulted in a substantial power increase, with the Mustang GT H850 producing 850 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque.
While Hennessey hasn’t officially released the 0-60 mph time or top speed, it’s likely that the H850 can achieve a sub-three-second sprint and a significantly higher top speed than the stock Mustang GT.
If these performance figures hold true, the Mustang GT H850 would be a formidable competitor to even the most powerful sports cars on the market. It would also serve as a testament to the Mustang’s enduring appeal and versatility.
Hennessey has left its mark on the 2024 Ford Mustang GT, with modifications to the headrests, exterior badging, and engine bay plaque. The tuned muscle car comes with a 3-year/36,000-mile warranty and optional performance upgrades.
Priced at $89,950, it’s significantly more expensive than the base Mustang GT but offers enhanced power and performance. While it’s comparable in price to a new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, the latter’s base model is typically available at a discount.
