The 2024 Mexican Grand Prix at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez in Mexico City is set to feature an exciting starting grid, with Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz taking the pole position. He achieved this with an impressive performance in the qualifying session, finishing with a lap time that was 0.225 seconds quicker than that of reigning three-time World Champion Max Verstappen from Red Bull, who managed to secure a front-row position despite initially struggling with track limits during his first run in Q3.

The second row of the grid will see McLaren’s Lando Norris starting third alongside Sainz’s Ferrari teammate, Charles Leclerc, who faced some challenges during his qualifying lap. Leclerc’s performance was not as consistent as desired, but he still managed to place well in the overall standings. Following them, the Mercedes duo of George Russell and Lewis Hamilton will start fifth and sixth, respectively, aiming to capitalize on any opportunities during the race.

Another notable highlight from the qualifying session was Haas driver Kevin Magnussen, who impressed by qualifying seventh. His performance places him ahead of Alpine’s Pierre Gasly, who continued to show strong form following his success in the previous week’s United States Grand Prix. Rounding out the top ten are Alexander Albon from Williams and Nico Hulkenberg from Haas, both of whom will be looking to make their mark in the race.

In contrast, the qualifying session brought disappointment for several drivers, notably Oscar Piastri from McLaren and Sergio Perez from Red Bull, both of whom were eliminated in Q1. Their struggles highlight the competitive nature of the grid, where even well-regarded drivers can face unexpected challenges.

The full starting grid for the 2024 Mexican Grand Prix is as follows: Carlos Sainz leads in pole position, followed by Max Verstappen, Lando Norris, Charles Leclerc, George Russell, Lewis Hamilton, Kevin Magnussen, Pierre Gasly, Alexander Albon, and Nico Hulkenberg. The subsequent positions include Yuki Tsunoda, Liam Lawson, Fernando Alonso, Lance Stroll, Valtteri Bottas, Franco Colapinto, Oscar Piastri, Sergio Perez, Esteban Ocon, and Guanyu Zhou. This lineup sets the stage for an exciting race ahead.
