The Brabus Rocket GTS is a modern take on the shooting brake design, transforming the sporty and elegant Mercedes-AMG GT63 S E Performance coupe into a more practical yet aggressive-looking hatchback. This version blends classic coupe aesthetics with a unique twist, much like previous unconventional models, including the BMW M Coupe “Clownshoe.” Known for its distinctive modifications, Brabus has added its signature touch, creating a car that combines power with a sinister design aesthetic, resembling a life-size version of a Hot Wheels car and even drawing comparisons to Darth Vader’s helmet.

Built upon the Mercedes-AMG platform, the Brabus Rocket GTS makes bold changes, particularly at the rear where the roofline extends back and drops at the taillights, lending the car a more aerodynamic profile. Constructed entirely from exposed carbon fiber, the body is sculpted to include a lip spoiler and angular rear end, while the front has squared-off vents and a splitter designed for high-speed stability. These adjustments not only give the car an assertive look but also improve its aerodynamics, reinforcing the aggressive stance Brabus is known for.

At the rear, the car features a redesigned bumper with a diffuser and four exhaust pipes that emit a red glow. It’s also wider than the standard coupe by over an inch, adding to its menacing look. Functional elements like the dramatic front fender cuts enhance brake cooling, with brakes hidden behind five-spoke monoblock wheels. This functional yet dramatic styling showcases Brabus’s expertise in marrying aesthetics with engineering performance.

Powering the Rocket GTS is a re-engineered hybrid powertrain featuring a twin-turbocharged 4.5-liter V-8 engine paired with an electric motor, delivering 986 horsepower and up to 1195 pound-feet of torque. This setup not only boosts power but also protects the nine-speed transmission, adding nearly 200 horsepower over the standard GT63 S E Performance model. Brabus claims the car achieves 62 mph in just 2.6 seconds, with a top speed of 197 mph, making it a truly formidable performer.

Inside, the Rocket GTS is as luxurious as it is powerful, with extensive carbon-fiber trim and high-end materials, including quilted leather seats and suede upholstery. The interior is custom-tailored, even featuring specially designed luggage that complements the vehicle’s new rear hatch. At a starting price of around $1 million, this exclusive Brabus model costs significantly more than the base coupe but offers a unique blend of extreme styling, luxury, and performance.
