Chris Brown, the renowned YouTuber with a knack for mechanical marvels, has a passion for both cars and motorcycles. His love affair with bikes began at seventeen with a Kawasaki KZ1000LTD, a sentiment echoed in a recent fortunate find. A marketplace listing, devoid of a price tag, presented an opportunity to acquire this classic bike.

The owner, eager to part ways with the motorcycle, generously offered it at no cost. However, Brown, despite his enthusiasm, couldn’t resist the urge to contribute and offered five hundred dollars as a token of appreciation. With a newborn daughter at home, Brown’s late-night garage sessions took on a new dimension.

Despite the challenges of a disrupted sleep schedule, he couldn’t contain his excitement for the restoration project. This video follows a YouTuber as he begins work on his new acquisition, a Kawasaki motorcycle that has been sitting since 1989. Despite its age, the bike is remarkably well-preserved, with only a few minor issues.

The YouTuber starts by removing and disassembling the carburetors, which are surprisingly clean and in good condition. He easily cleans them with a chemical dip and some elbow grease. Next, he addresses the bike’s seat lock, which was missing when he bought it. He cleverly picks the lock open using a tool he made himself and then obtains a replacement key from a Kawasaki dealer.

The bike’s chassis and engine are found to be in excellent condition, with no major issues. However, the fuel tank is heavily corroded and needs to be replaced. The brakes also require some work to free up the caliper pistons and make them functional again.

The 998cc four-cylinder engine starts up and runs well, although the electrical system needs some attention to get everything working properly. the YouTuber is impressed with the condition of the bike and is excited to get it back on the road after 34 years of storage.
