The 23rd Tenerife Classic Car Rally, the largest regularity rally of its type in Spain, commenced on Friday morning, drawing in motor enthusiasts from across Tenerife.

The rally began at 9:30 a.m. from García Sanabria Park in Santa Cruz, where participants held a minute’s silence to honor the victims of the recent floods in Valencia. To mark the solemnity of the occasion, all cars are displaying black ribbons.

The event kicked off with an exhibition of modern high-performance cars, including Ferraris, McLarens, and Lamborghinis, as part of a special “Tribute” category.

Following this, the main participants, vintage cars from the 1940s through the 1970s, embarked on their journey.

This lineup of automotive treasures featured Jaguars, Mercedes, Triumphs, Alfa Romeos, Austins, and BMWs.

In total, 89 vehicles representing 25 different car brands took part, underscoring the event’s dedication to classic motoring heritage.

The rally’s opening stage saw favorable weather as participants departed from Santa Cruz, traveling through Machado and El Tablero.

They continued along the scenic El Portillo route, crossing Las Cañadas del Teide, and descended through Chío to reach the stunning Los Gigantes cliffs, where they paused for their first stop.

From there, they journeyed northward, passing through Santiago del Teide, Garachico, and Icod, and finished in Puerto de la Cruz along the TF-5 highway.

With its fusion of classic automobiles and breathtaking landscapes, the 23rd edition of the Clásica Tenerife continues to impress, celebrating both Tenerife’s automotive legacy and its scenic routes.
