The 2025 Toyota Highlander mid-size SUV lineup has been updated with new pricing and trim options, making it more accessible to buyers. Notably, a new LE trim has been introduced, which is positioned below the previous entry-level XLE model. This LE model starts at $42,310, representing a reduction of $2,460 compared to last year’s base model. For hybrid enthusiasts, the Grand Highlander Hybrid’s base price has also decreased, starting at $45,660, which is $870 less than the previous year.

The LE trim can be equipped with the Grand Highlander’s standard turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine, available in both front-wheel and all-wheel-drive configurations. Alternatively, buyers can opt for the non-Max hybrid system. The XLE trim makes a return for 2025, but with a slight price increase, now starting at $45,080. These adjustments reflect Toyota’s strategy to provide more options at varied price points for potential customers.

In addition to the LE and XLE trims, Toyota has introduced a new Nightshade trim for the Grand Highlander, priced at $54,060. This trim is based on the hybrid Limited model and features a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine combined with two electric motors, delivering a total output of 245 horsepower. The Nightshade stands out with its distinctive black accents on various exterior elements, such as the door handles, badging, and wheels, while maintaining the luxury features of the Limited model.

For those interested in performance, the Hybrid Max models return for the Limited and Platinum trims, starting at $56,140 and $60,225, respectively. These models feature a turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine paired with an electric motor, producing a robust 362 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque. This combination enhances the driving experience, catering to buyers looking for power and efficiency.

Finally, the 2025 Highlander lineup includes two new exterior paint options, Cement and Heavy Metal, adding more customization possibilities for buyers. A standard removable second-row console is also available on all captain’s chair-equipped trims, excluding the LE. The Platinum models are expected to begin arriving just before the New Year, while the LE models will be available in the first half of 2025, rounding out a well-rounded offering from Toyota for the upcoming model year.
