The 2019 Dodge Charger Pursuit, a police car, was brought to the Car Wizard, David Long, with a laundry list of issues. The most pressing problem was a severe oil leak, which could have potentially damaged the HEMI engine.

The car’s original battery, now five years old, was struggling to start the vehicle. Additionally, the brakes were squealing, and there were concerning noises coming from the underside, including a clunking sound when shifting from Reverse to Drive.

The police department, facing a bureaucratic hurdle, was undecided on whether to repair the car or sell it. With 59,733 miles under its hood in just five years, this Dodge Charger Pursuit has seen its fair share of action.

Unlike a pampered civilian car, this police vehicle boasts a unique setup. The officers have relocated the gear shifter and handbrake to make space for their specialized equipment, including a camera for the back cage and an intercom system.

Unfortunately, the car’s recent oil leak wasn’t due to the demanding police work. A mechanic discovered a critical mistake during an oil change a double gasket on the filter. Luckily, a proper oil change and a new filter should solve the problem. This isn’t the first time the mechanic has seen such blunders from other shops.
