Owners of certain 2025 Ram 1500 pickups beware! A safety issue has prompted a recall affecting over 33,000 trucks built between October 2023 and August 2024. The culprit? Potentially damaged front wheel bearing encoder rings during the manufacturing process.
This damage could disrupt the wheel speed signal and disable the crucial electronic stability control system, increasing the risk of accidents. While the problem lies in how the parts were handled, not their design, it’s a significant concern.
Owners of the new 2025 Ram 1500 may be waiting a while for a fix to a potential safety issue. The automaker identified a problem with the front wheel bearing encoder rings in June 2024 and traced it back to an internal production error, not a supplier issue. While a solution is in the works, replacement parts are currently unavailable.
In the meantime, dealers will be notified by the end of October to inspect affected vehicles and replace the front wheel hub assemblies if necessary. Owner notification letters are expected to arrive in December.
This news comes alongside lackluster sales figures for the 2025 Ram 1500. The starting price increase over the previous model year, combined with the absence of V8 engine options, has likely contributed to the decline.
