Ford Motor Company has issued a recall for over 6,200 2024 Mustang models due to potential instrument cluster malfunctions. Affected vehicles may experience a complete blackout of the instrument panel, rendering the gauges and warning lights inoperable.
This issue traced to a software initialization problem, can occur randomly and persist until the next engine starts. To address the problem, Ford dealers will need to perform an over-the-air update to the vehicle’s software.
Owners can verify if their Mustang is part of the recall by entering their vehicle identification number (VIN) on Ford’s website. The recall affects Mustangs manufactured between May 10, 2024, and August 20, 2024.
While the recall highlights a technical issue with the 2024 Mustang, it’s important to note that Ford has also introduced the highly anticipated 2025 Mustang GTD. This track-focused machine, built in Canada by Multimatic, boasts an impressive 815 horsepower and is designed to challenge the limits of performance.
