    U.S. stocks lower at close of trade; Dow Jones Industrial Average down 0.86% By Investing.com

    Investing.com – U.S. stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

    At the close in NYSE, the lost 0.86%, while the index fell 0.29%, and the index declined 0.08%.

    The best performers of the session on the were Honeywell International Inc (NASDAQ:), which rose 3.87% or 8.71 points to trade at 233.91 at the close. Meanwhile, Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:) added 1.22% or 5.12 points to end at 423.13 and Amazon.com Inc (NASDAQ:) was up 1.02% or 2.11 points to 208.91 in late trade.

    The worst performers of the session were Amgen Inc (NASDAQ:), which fell 7.14% or 22.97 points to trade at 298.84 at the close. Intel Corporation (NASDAQ:) declined 3.47% or 0.87 points to end at 24.18 and Dow Inc (NYSE:) was down 2.66% or 1.23 points to 45.04.

    The top performers on the S&P 500 were Tyson Foods Inc (NYSE:) which rose 6.55% to 62.66, DexCom Inc (NASDAQ:) which was up 5.73% to settle at 74.34 and Live Nation Entertainment Inc (NYSE:) which gained 4.77% to close at 129.70.

    The worst performers were The Mosaic Company (NYSE:) which was down 7.78% to 25.85 in late trade, GE Vernova LLC (NYSE:) which lost 7.36% to settle at 323.71 and Amgen Inc (NASDAQ:) which was down 7.14% to 298.84 at the close.

    The top performers on the NASDAQ Composite were Shineco Inc (NASDAQ:) which rose 2,517.39% to 3.01, BTC Digital Ltd (NASDAQ:) which was up 316.67% to settle at 10.50 and Nano Labs Ltd ADR (NASDAQ:) which gained 134.04% to close at 7.70.

    The worst performers were Atlantic Coastal Acquisition Corp II (NASDAQ:) which was down 47.06% to 5.77 in late trade, Neurogene Inc (NASDAQ:) which lost 44.08% to settle at 40.00 and Rockwell Medical Inc (NASDAQ:) which was down 39.14% to 2.83 at the close.

    Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the New York Stock Exchange by 2200 to 627 and 49 ended unchanged; on the Nasdaq Stock Exchange, 2226 fell and 1072 advanced, while 118 ended unchanged.

    Shares in Live Nation Entertainment Inc (NYSE:) rose to all time highs; gaining 4.77% or 5.90 to 129.70. Shares in Honeywell International Inc (NASDAQ:) rose to 3-years highs; up 3.87% or 8.71 to 233.91. Shares in Dow Inc (NYSE:) fell to 52-week lows; down 2.66% or 1.23 to 45.04. Shares in Atlantic Coastal Acquisition Corp II (NASDAQ:) fell to all time lows; falling 47.06% or 5.13 to 5.77. Shares in BTC Digital Ltd (NASDAQ:) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 316.67% or 7.98 to 10.50.

    The , which measures the implied volatility of S&P 500 options, was down 1.74% to 14.71 a new 1-month low.

    Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.50% or 13.20 to $2,604.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.06% or 0.04 to hit $68.00 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.10% or 0.07 to trade at $71.76 a barrel.

    EUR/USD was unchanged 0.27% to 1.06, while USD/JPY rose 0.59% to 154.61.

    The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.37% at 105.84.
