    Italy stocks lower at close of trade; Investing.com Italy 40 unchanged By Investing.com

    Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as in the sectors led shares .

    At the close in Milan, the unchanged 0.00%.

    The best performers of the session on the were Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (BIT:), which rose 2.32% or 0.15 points to trade at 6.81 at the close. Meanwhile, Bper Banca SpA (BIT:) added 1.42% or 0.09 points to end at 6.13 and Hera (BIT:) was up 1.18% or 0.04 points to 3.43 in late trade.

    The worst performers of the session were STMicroelectronics (BIT:), which fell 1.60% or 0.39 points to trade at 24.01 at the close. Interpump Group (BIT:) declined 1.16% or 0.50 points to end at 42.66 and Prysmian SpA (BIT:) was down 0.74% or 0.46 points to 61.66.

    Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 261 to 240 and 54 ended unchanged.

    Shares in Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (BIT:) rose to 52-week highs; up 2.32% or 0.15 to 6.81.

    Crude oil for February delivery was up 1.29% or 0.91 to $71.51 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 0.92% or 0.68 to hit $74.47 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.59% or 15.56 to trade at $2,616.34 a troy ounce.

    EUR/USD was unchanged 0.37% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.07% to 0.83.

    The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.23% at 108.04.
