Lieutenant Governor and Secretary of Commerce David Toland today announced that AAR CORP., a leading provider in the aviation industry for commercial and governmental operators, is committed to investing up to $9.5 million expanding operations at its Wellington facility. Once completed, AAR will expand its workforce with up to 100 new job opportunities.
“AAR CORP. is a well-established company and a top competitor in aviation with a worldwide market,” Lieutenant Governor and Secretary of Commerce David Toland said. “Their expansion not only will bring new jobs to south-central Kansas but will further strengthen our powerful aviation ecosystem, which benefits the entire state.”
AAR CORP. provides aviation services such as maintenance, repair and operations (MRO); original equipment manufacturer (OEM), and other supply chain and distribution solutions to commercial and government customers worldwide. Their aftermarket expertise and award-winning solutions help their clients increase efficiency and reduce costs while maintaining high levels of quality, service and safety.
“We are excited to strengthen our operations and contribute to the local economy by increasing our workforce,” AAR General Manager of Component Services – Wellington Ben Murrell said. “This growth will enhance our ability to service our global customers and meet the demand for an even larger aviation presence in Kansas.”
AAR CORP. will add 100,000 square feet to its established components facility in Sumner County and is expected to start operating in the expanded area in April.
The standing facility has been operating for nearly 60 years, providing MRO services to military and commercial aircraft operators around the globe. With the expansion, AAR will be able to add products to its already extensive portfolio of capabilities.
