The International Carbon Registry (ICR), based in Reykjavík, Iceland, has announced a strategic partnership with Klappir, a sustainability management software provider, to simplify carbon offsetting for corporate buyers.

This collaboration integrates ICR’s high-quality carbon credit portfolio into Klappir’s platform, enabling businesses to offset emissions and support climate initiatives with ease and transparency, according to a statement on Wednesday.

All transactions are linked to ICR’s registry for transparency in tracking emissions and offsets, and ICR’s rigorous standards ensure every credit meets international requirements and aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Through Klappir’s marketplace, corporate users can now:

    • Offset Emissions Instantly: Access verified carbon credits from ICR-registered projects to address Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions in real time.
    • Invest in Future Climate Solutions: Support innovative reduction and removal projects using ex-ante carbon credits.
    • Simplify Purchases: Opt for pre-designed or customizable credit bundles aligned with corporate sustainability goals.

The integration between ICR and Klappir enhances accessibility to verified credits, allowing businesses to seamlessly incorporate carbon offsetting into their sustainability strategies.

It fosters trust through detailed project certifications and reporting, while enabling a balanced approach of immediate emission reductions and investments in future climate technologies

Guðmundur Sigbergsson, CEO of ICR, highlighted the shared mission: “Together, we’re empowering businesses to make informed and impactful decisions about their sustainability efforts.”

With ICR’s blockchain-backed transparency and Klappir’s user-friendly platform, this collaboration offers businesses an innovative solution to tackle climate challenges and demonstrate leadership in sustainability.
