Rubicon Carbon, a pioneer in carbon credit management and investment, has announced a new partnership with Terradot, a Brazil and San Francisco-based carbon dioxide removal (CDR) company specializing in Enhanced Rock Weathering (ERW).
This innovative approach leverages natural processes to remove carbon dioxide (CO2) from the atmosphere while offering additional environmental and agricultural benefits.
Rubicon Carbon plans to integrate Terradot’s ERW solutions into its diversified portfolios, Rubicon Carbon Tonnes, offering clients access to this cutting-edge carbon removal technology.
“We are particularly excited to work with Terradot,” said Rubicon Carbon, citing the dual benefits of reducing atmospheric CO2 and supporting sustainable agriculture.
ERW is based on a natural climate cycle in which rainwater with dissolved CO2 breaks down rocks, storing a portion of that CO2 as carbonates in soil or the ocean for thousands of years.
Terradot, which launched operations in December 2024, powered by $58.2 million in funding, accelerates this process by spreading finely crushed basalt rock across Brazil’s agricultural lands.
The increased surface area of the rock dust reacts more efficiently with rainwater, simultaneously enhancing soil health and boosting crop yields.

Brazil’s unique tropical climate, with its favorable temperatures, rainfall patterns, and soil conditions, makes it an ideal location for ERW.
Over the next decade, Terradot aims to maximize the climate impact of ERW, positioning Brazil as a leader in scalable carbon removal.
In addition to its innovative ERW methods, Terradot is addressing critical challenges in open-system CDR processes by developing a state-of-the-art Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) system, Rubicon Carbon said.
Designed by leading scientists in the field, the system ensures transparency and accuracy in carbon removal efforts.
