The Global Carbon Council (GCC)—the first international carbon credit and sustainable development program, based in the Global South—has formally submitted its application for Program-level assessment and approval to the Integrity Council for the Voluntary Carbon Market (ICVCM).
This marks a significant step in GCC’s commitment to ensuring the quality, transparency, and impact of its carbon crediting program.
The ICVCM has carried out an initial review and confirmed that GCC’s application is complete.
With this step finalized, the process now moves to the assessment phase, where ICVCM will evaluate GCC’s program against its rigorous Assessment Framework to verify compliance with the Core Carbon Principles (CCPs).
GCC said it remains committed to actively engaging with the ICVCM throughout this evaluation.
