Bitauto News, according to relevant media reports, BYD is forming a carbon emission alliance with European automobile manufacturers, selling them carbon credits to help them avoid huge fines imposed by the European Union for emissions in 2025.

According to regulations, automobile manufacturers are required to declare their carbon credit trading agreements to the European Commission before December 31st each year. The European Commission may request additional information disclosure but will not interfere with the commercial terms of the agreements.

Previously, several car companies announced the establishment of two carbon credit pools. One is composed of Tesla, Stellantis, Toyota, Ford, Mazda and Subaru, and the other includes Mercedes-Benz, Polestar and Volvo.
