European Union carbon credit costs have pulled back from recent gains but remain higher than shipping’s first year in the emissions trading system.
The elevated prices for what are known as EU Allowances (EUAs) come in a year when shipowners and operators are required to cover a higher share of their greenhouse gas emissions on European voyages than in 2024.
