With India gearing up to celebrate Holi, many are wondering if banks will remain open on March 13, the day of Holika Dahan, and March 14, Holi. According to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) calendar, both public and private sector banks in several cities will remain closed on these days. Bank holiday schedule varies by regional festivals.

Additionally, those planning to visit the bank after Holi should note that March 15 falls on the second Saturday, followed by March 16, which is a Sunday. This means that banks will remain closed for four consecutive days.

On March 13, banks will remain closed in Dehradun, Kanpur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Ranchi and Thiruvananthapuram.

On March 14, they will remain closed in Gujarat, Chhattisgarh, Mizoram, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, Assam, Chandigarh, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Arunachal Pradesh, West Bengal, Rajasthan, Jammu, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Goa, Bihar, Jharkhand, Meghalaya, Himachal Pradesh and Srinagar on the occasion of Holi.

Banks in Agartala, Bhubaneswar, Imphal, and Patna will remain closed on March 15.

Banks will also remain closed on March 15 in Manipur in observance of Yaosang, a five-day spring festival that begins on the full moon day of the month of Lamta. Yaosang is one of the indigenous traditions of the Meitei.

Customers are advised to complete their banking tasks in advance to avoid any inconvenience. While bank branches will have their operations suspended on these days, online banking, UPI transactions and ATM services will continue to function.
