Every Sunday is a weekly off, and all Indian banks — public and private — have holidays on the second and fourth Saturdays. The holidays in India may vary across states due to local and regional customs.
Customers should, therefore, be aware of these holidays to plan their banking activities accordingly.
The full list of state-wise bank holidays in June 2025 is as follows:
June 1 (Sunday): Weekly off
All banks in India will remain closed on Sunday.
June 6 (Friday): Eid-ul-Adha (Bakrid)
Banks in Kerala will remain closed on June 6 on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha (Bakrid). Also referred to as the ‘Festival of Sacrifice,’ Bakri-Id is an annual celebration observed by Muslims worldwide.
June 7 (Saturday): Bakrid (Id-Uz-Zuha)
Except for Gujarat, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, and Kerala, banks will remain closed on June 7 in observance of Bakrid.
June 11 (Wednesday): Sant Guru Kabir Jayanti/Saga Dawa
Banks in Sikkim and Meghalaya will remain closed on June 11 on the occasion of Sant Guru Kabir Jayanti, an annual celebration of Kabir Das’s birth anniversary.
June 12 (Thursday): Guru Hargobindji’s Birthday
Guru Hargobind Ji’s birthday is a regional public holiday in Jammu and Kashmir, and banks will remain closed on this day.
June 14 (Saturday): Pahili Raja
Pahili Raja 2025 is observed as a bank holiday in Punjab and Odisha on June 14. It is also celebrated along with YMA Day in Mizoram on June 15.
June 27 (Friday): Rath Yatra/Kang (Rathajatra)
Banks in Orissa and Manipur will remain closed in observance of Rath Yatra/Kang (Rathajatra), also called Navadina Yatra, and Gundicha Yatra, on June 27.
June 30 (Monday): Remna Ni
Banks will remain closed in Mizoram on June 30 to observe Remna Ni, also referred to as Peace Day.
Customers can still use online or mobile banking services on bank holidays unless they are notified of technical or other concerns. ATM withdrawals will remain accessible in case of financial requirements, and both the app and UPI function normally.
