The Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), under the Ministry of Power, Government of India, has invited applications from agencies interested in becoming Accredited Carbon Verification (ACV) agencies under the Carbon Credit Trading Scheme (CCTS), 2023. The CCTS was officially notified by the Ministry of Power on June 28, 2023, through notification number S.O. 2525(E). As per the scheme, BEE has the authority, with prior approval from the Central Government and based on recommendations from the National Steering Committee for the Indian Carbon Market, to set procedures and eligibility criteria for accrediting agencies to function as ACV agencies.

BEE has now developed detailed Accreditation Procedures and Eligibility Criteria for this purpose. These guidelines provide the minimum requirements that any agency must meet in order to be accredited to perform validation and verification functions under the CCTS. Agencies that meet these criteria and are interested in participating are encouraged to apply for accreditation.

The application process requires the submission of a completed form along with all supporting documents as outlined in the Accreditation Procedure Guidelines. The application form is available on the official BEE website. Completed forms and documents must be submitted via email to sdicell@beeindia.gov.in and meenakshi@beeindia.gov.in.
