During the “Suzhou Day” event, the Suzhou Power Supply Company talked about the exploration of State Grid Corporation of China in serving the “dual carbon” goals and demonstrated Suzhou’s innovative practices in the green and low-carbon fields. The project on display at the event, through continuous upgrade based on the concept of sustainable development, innovatively constructed a new paradigm of electricity-carbon integrated services, created a regional market-based carbon inclusive system, provided customers with one-stop carbon neutrality inclusive services, and solved the difficulties faced by buyers and sellers of small and medium-sized carbon emission reduction projects in participating in carbon trading.
During the project display, Suzhou Power Supply Company introduced the innovative use of carbon inclusive mechanism by Daikin Air Conditioning (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. to explore green transformation. With the goal of building a “zero-carbon factory,” the company purchased 11,000 tons of carbon emission reduction quota through the Suzhou Carbon Inclusive Service Center to offset the carbon emissions generated in daily operations.
It is understood that carbon credit is an important supplement to the country’s multi-level carbon market system. After quantifying the low-carbon behaviors of individuals and enterprises into carbon emission reduction, the value is realized through transactions and other means. Since the pilot of Suzhou’s carbon credit system in November 2022, after three years of exploration, it has formed an integrated service model of “verification, reduction, exchange and certification.”
