Deep Sky has selected Isometric as the carbon removal registry to monitor activities and issue carbon credits from the Deep Sky Alpha facility in Alberta, Canada.

Dubbed as the world’s first cross-technology carbon removal innovation and commercialization center, Deep Sky Alpha serves as a testing ground for 10 different Direct Air Capture (DAC) technologies.

This novel portfolio of DAC projects is expected to generate the first carbon removal credits to customers in summer 2025, which will be delivered through Isometric’s verification platform Certify.

On its end, Isometric will rely on the Isometric Standard, Direct Air Capture Protocol, and science-based digital Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) platform to make sure the credits issued at the Deep Sky Alpha facility are traceable and in line with the highest quality criteria.

By partnering together, Isometric and Deep Sky will boost the confidence of buyers that each generated carbon removal credit corresponds to one tonne of durably removed atmospheric CO2.

Isometric, which in December 2024 earned approval from all three major accreditation bodies—ICVCM, CORSIA, and ICROA—will combine its transparent registry with Deep Sky’s platform to provide a carbon removal audit trail that exceeds the industry standards.

Deep Sky, focused on developing 4 more carbon removal projects across Canada, will offer its clients access to an “active portfolio within a portfolio” offering that will combine the emerging DAC solutions deployed at the Alpha site.

To deliver meaningful climate results, Deep Sky is leveraging Canada’s low-carbon energy grid, which, when combined with the country’s stable regulatory framework and availability of geological storage, provides an optimal environment for developing productive projects.

Deep Sky CEO Alex Petre commented, “The future of carbon removal depends on trust. Isometric’s scientifically rigorous, transparent approach gives our customers and investors the confidence they need to scale DAC infrastructure.”

On behalf of Isometric, Eamon Jubbawy, founder and CEO, stated, “We’re pleased to support Deep Sky’s innovative approach to accelerating the deployment of Direct Air Capture. This is important work that aligns with our mission of scaling carbon removal responsibly and fast.”
