O’Reilly Development Company announces The Meadows at Wicklow
O’Reilly Development Company, LLC announced it has broken ground on a new development in Nixa, The Meadows at Wicklow. The 240-unit, market-rate apartment development will open in phases starting in mid-2026 with full completion expected by mid-2027.
The development in north Nixa totals 267,175 square feet, with plans for seven open-breezeway, walk-up-style buildings and a variety of floor plans, from 460 square-foot studios to 1,239-square-foot three-bedroom units, all with modern finishes, energy-efficient appliances and in-unit washer and dryer capabilities. Other planned amenities include a clubhouse, fitness center, resort-style swimming pool, dog park, outdoor pavilion, and scenic walking trail.

New ‘Life Beyond Debt’ program offered in Springfield
Consumer Credit Counseling Service of the Heartland (CCCS of the Heartland) is now offering “Life Beyond Debt,” a new program from the National Foundation for Credit Counseling that aims to help residents build emergency savings while paying down unsecured debt.
Unlike traditional approaches that focus solely on repayment, the program integrates a structured savings component into CCCS’s existing Debt Management Plan. In addition to paying down debt at reduced interest rates, a matching savings feature will help them create a $400 emergency fund during their enrollment.

Springfield company a partner in Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks
Springfield-based Ingram Enterprises, Inc., through Pyro Spectaculars which it acquired in 2024, collaborated on the design of the 49th Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks. For more than four decades, Pyro Spectaculars has partnered with Macy’s on the New York City fireworks display, which featured more than 80,000 firework shells this year.

Springfield’s DMP celebrates 50 years in business
Digital Monitoring Products (DMP) commemorated 50 years since its founding in 1975 with an anniversary celebration at its Springfield headquarters June 12. Approximately 500 guests attended the event, which included discussion of the company’s early days as well as keynote speeches by Hal Donaldson, president of Convoy of Hope, and Scott Elkins, CEO of Zeus Fire and Security.
Resolutions from the Missouri Senate and the Missouri House of Representatives were presented at the event. Missouri Gov. Mike Kehoe, U.S. Senators Eric Schmitt and Josh Hawley, and U.S. Congressman Eric Burlison issued certificates and letters of congratulations.
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor and Statistics, fewer than 1% of businesses make it to the 50-year milestone. DMP, which manufactures intrusion, fire, access control, video and cellular alarm systems, got its start in 1975, founded by Rick Britton initially as an offshoot of Atlas Security then as an independent manufacturing company.
Salvation Army, Westlake Ace Hardware partner to offer free fans
The Salvation Army of Springfield and Westlake Ace Hardware are again partnering for their annual fan distribution, helping local residents stay cool during the hot summer months. Fans are available on a first-come, first-serve basis at the Salvation Army, 1707 W. Chestnut Expressway, from 9 a.m. to noon on the following dates:

CU refinances bonds, saving $1.3 million annually
City Utilities of Springfield announced it will save approximately $1.3 million each year by refinancing at a lower interest rate bonds originally issued in 2006 for the construction of Unit 2 at the John Twitty Energy Center, a 300-megawatt coal-fired power generation facility.
The bonds, originally issued at $615 million, were eligible for refunding every 10 years with approval from both the Board of Public Utilities and Springfield City Council. The Board approved the refinancing in February, followed by Council approval in March. Due to market volatility in the spring, City Utilities waited to finalize the timing of the issuance. The new bonds were officially issued on June 18, and the savings will begin in 2026. The remaining debt on the bonds is $307 million and is scheduled to be paid off in 2036.
Friends of the Zoo has new event and volunteer coordinator
Friends of the Zoo, the nonprofit organization which supports Dickerson Park Zoo, announced the hiring of Caleb Burg as the new event and volunteer coordinator.
Burg graduated from Missouri State University in May 2025 with a Bachelor of Science in Communication Studies. He is a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity Alumni and a new member of The Network.
Friends of the Zoo has more than 100 volunteers who help with events and activities at Dickerson Park Zoo. Burg will be responsible for planning and coordinating zoo events as well as managing and communicating with the volunteers. Carver recognized with ICON award from Missouri Lawyers Media
Thomas Carver, Of Counsel for Wampler & Passanise, received a 2025 ICON award from Missouri Lawyers Media at ceremonies held in St. Louis. Carver was one of 22 Missouri legal professionals recognized in 2025, honoring his contributions and leadership to the legal profession during his more than 50-year career. The ICON Awards are presented to attorneys and judges aged 60 and above who have demonstrated dedication and achievement in their careers, a commitment to the Missouri legal community, and leadership within and outside the field of law.
Carver has represented clients at the federal, state, and municipal levels. He serves on the board of directors for the Southwest Missouri Bar Association and its Foundation. The Missouri Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, of which he is a past president, awarded Carver the Robert Duncan Award for Appellate Excellence and, in 2019, bestowed the Bernard Edelman Tradition Award for mentoring young lawyers. For the past decade, he has been recognized as a Best Lawyer in America and a Missouri-Kansas Super Lawyer. He was named Lawyer of the Year by Best Lawyers on five occasions during his career for excellence in criminal defense.
Branson Bank hires Clemens as VP, commercial lender
Branson Bank announced the hiring of Shawn Clemens, Vice President of Commercial Lending. A native of Branson, Clemens brings 11 years of experience in commercial banking and a strong commitment to the local community.
