CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — The Chattanooga Police Department (CPD) is investigating a fatal traffic crash on Ashland Terrace.
CPD responded to a traffic crash near the 700 block of Ashland Terrace at 6:56 a.m September 13, 2024.
When officers arrived on scene, they discovered a 43-year-old woman with life threatening injuries.
Due to the severity of her injuries, CPD’s Traffic Unit along with the Chattanooga Fire Department (CFD) and Hamilton County EMS also responded to the scene.
CFD extracted the woman from the vehicle, and EMS transported her to a nearby hospital where she later died.
Preliminary information reveals the victim was driving a Nissan Sentra headed northbound on Ashland Terrace.
The Sentra went into the southbound lanes, causing a head-on collision with an Audi Q8.
A 43-year-old man was driving the Q8, and he sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
