SALEM, Ohio (WKBN) – There’s an opportunity with a Valley metals industry company that stretches across its footprint.
BuTech Bliss is known around the world for its equipment building. Most of its business is building equipment to help companies flatten steel coils and turn them into something else.
“Our customers in the metals industry are really looking for more equipment. They’re expanding and wanting to buy more, produce more,” said BuTech Bliss President Jock Buta.
Buta is president of the Salem company which he says is feeling a drive for equipment that’s higher strength.
This piece of equipment is a crosshead that weighs as much as 26 cars. BuTech Bliss needs the expertise to help build more things like it.
One of its biggest needs is engineers — any type of engineer — mechanical, electrical, automation, hydraulic and welding engineers. It also wants to find manufacturing personnel like welders, machinists, and assemblers.
“We will use a lot of engineering in the manufacturing operation in our shop to help guide and really plan how to build the equipment,” Buta said.
BuTech Bliss is holding a hiring event to fill those needs and their backlog of work can keep everybody in the company busy, even new hires.
“There are a variety of positions. I mean, we’re looking for everything. Like you said, we’re looking for anywhere from janitorial help, all the way up to engineers, HR. We’re looking to continue to grow,” said Matt Houston, Chief Operating Officer.
BuTech Bliss has plenty of opportunity. It will keep finding answers in the metals industry to reach new customers and employees have room to grow.
Matt Houston started as an intern, worked up to two managerial spots and now is the COO of the company.
“The company always tries to promote from within. Very, very family-oriented company,” said Houston.
BuTech Bliss also gives raises twice a year. It has nine paid holidays, and it does not charge for health insurance.
