NZD/USD regains positive traction on Wednesday amid a modest USD weakness.Reduced RBNZ rate cut bets underpin the NZD and further support spot prices.Geopolitical risks and trade uncertainties might cap ahead of the Fed decision. The NZD/USD pair attracts some dip-buying near the 0.6000 psychological mark during the Asian session on Wednesday and reverses a part of the previous day’s retracement slide from the vicinity of the year-to-date peak. Spot prices, however, remain confined within a familiar range held over the past two weeks or so and currently trade around the 0.6030 area as traders keenly await the outcome of a…

Image source: Getty Images Wise has recently joined the ranks of businesses looking to list their shares in the US, rather than the UK. And at least for the time being, the direction of travel seems to be one-way. A big reason is the fact that companies think – with some justification — that they can attract higher valuations for their shares across the Atlantic. But could there be more on the way? Rentokil Initial There have been reports that activist investors at Rentokil Initial (LSE:RTO) might be pushing for a US listing. And this could be a reasonable idea. …

Image source: Getty Images The chart for Vodafone (LSE: VOD) shares over the past five years tells a scary story. The mobile phone giant’s share price has fallen 41.8%. And that’s enough to turn a £10,000 investment into just £5,820. Well, it wouldn’t be quite that bad. Shareholders would have had some dividend cash to help ease their pain. I’m seeing something of a parallel with BT Group a few years previously. BT paid dividends it couldn’t afford and that contributed to share price falls. The dividend was slashed and the company hit a key performance milestone a year ago.…

Tesco (LSE: TSC) shares have really delivered. They’re up 27% over 12 months and 75% across five years. The UK’s biggest grocer has shown bite after losing its way under former boss Philip Clarke, with consistent success for the last decade. It’s now one of the most solid performers on the FTSE 100. Whenever I check the Tesco share price, it seems to be quietly doing its thing. Of course, there has been the odd bump. The shares took a knock after Donald Trump’s so-called ‘Liberation Day’ tariffs, even though Tesco wasn’t directly affected. It soon bounced back and is now brushing off…

American Express (AXP) is planning to refresh its and later this year in a move meant to make the more appealing to the company’s fast-growing cohort of Gen Z consumers, Howard Grosfield, Group President, U.S. Consumer Services at American Express, told Yahoo Finance. He declined to give full details of the refresh but said it was aimed at building loyalty to the cards by adding benefits highly valued by cardmembers. “You’re going to see us double down on all the wonderful benefits that our card members love on travel, business, and dining,” Grosfield said, adding that the number of Gen…

Image source: Getty Images The FTSE 100’s a great place to go hunting for bargain shares. Legal & General, Coca-Cola CCH and Aviva are just a few cheap major stocks I hold in my own portfolio. I recently added to it by picking up some low-cost HSBC Holdings (LSE:HSBA) shares as well. The Asian bank’s been on my radar for some time. And although HSBC’s share price is up 11.2% so far in 2025, it still looks cheap based on a range of metrics. So with some dividend income and tax relief sitting idle in my Self-Invested Personal Pension (SIPP),…

Image source: Getty Images Escalating conflict in the Middle East has sent oil prices through the roof in recent days. Naturally, the share prices of ‘black gold’ producers have followed suit — BP (LSE:BP.) has risen 4.3% in value in the last week alone, making it one of the FTSE 100‘s best performing shares. I wouldn’t be shocked to see the Footsie oilie continue its ascent in the days and weeks to come, perhaps longer. It’s not just the prospect of a full-scale Middle Eastern conflict and a disruption in crude supply that could drive further gains. Fresh breakthroughs on…

British Airways, Stripe and Shopify have purchased what backers say are the first independently verified credits from ocean carbon removal, a mechanism with huge sequestration potential. “It’s a crucial proof point that this is possible,” said Stacy Kauk, chief science officer at Isometric, the registry that issued the credits. The credits were generated by a project that added powdered alkaline minerals to cooling water discharged from a power plant into the Halifax, Canada, harbor. The minerals trigger chemical reactions that pull carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and lock it away in bicarbonate ions, which remain stable for tens of thousands…

As the Baby Boomers age out of driving, that silver tsunami will force American cities to change their policies to support the Boomers’ new transportation needs. And it’s time to talk about it. Today, we’re posting an extended audio version of our earlier conversation with the fantastic author, attorney, and law professor Greg Shill about his contributions to the new book, “Law and the 100-Year Life”.In our chat, we dig into thorny questions about whether we need to reject what he calls “design essentialism” and accept the necessity of traffic enforcement; what it will take to get America’s seniors to move to places…
